Americans4Artsakh (AfA) increases its support for educational programs. AfA is pleased to announce that Yervand Nersisian scholarship program is expanding. Thanks to the generous contribution of Mr. Nersisian students from the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) studying at various colleges of Armenia receive monthly payments. Launched first in 2016 with assisting two students from Artsakh to study in Yerevan’s major colleges, the program has gradually expanded to helping seven students by 2020 and is planned to reach eight students in 2021. Yervand Nersisian has already generously spent 25,000 dollars on this project.
Americans4Artsakh highly appreciates Yervand’s contributions and his care about education in Artsakh. We are pleased to announce that in 2020 the scholarship program was named after Yervand Nersisian. “During these difficult albeit heroic days when our nation is engaged in the righteous struggle for protecting our motherland and the freedom of Artsakh, I see the education in general and the more particularly knowledge-based economy as a key for the prosperity of Armenians”, said Mr. Nersisian.
Yervand Nerisisian of New York City, originally from Artsakh, is a professional in the financial industry.
