“There needs to be a peaceful settlement in terms of the territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh citizens’ right to self-determination. These principles are equally applicable,” Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz said at the March 2, 2023 joint news conference with Armenia’s PM.
Chancellor Scholz also praised the recent meeting in Munich between the Armenian Prime Minister, President of Azerbaijan the US Secretary of State, calling it “an encouraging step for the resolution of the conflict.”
President of Artsakh welcomed the statement adding that the “settlement (of conflict with Azerbaijan) is impossible without fully considering our fundamental collective rights.”
