About Americans4Artsakh
Americans for Artsakh (AfA / Americans4Artsakh) – is a U.S. non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity based in Washington, DC, that supports the Republic of Artsakh (Artsakh).
AfA was founded in October 2003, in the U.S. capital city – Washington, DC. Since then, it has worked to both assist Artsakh in its development as a free, independent, and democratic state, as well as to encourage the growth of its economy, the advancement of its education system, and the advancement of its culture.
AfA is likewise eager to share Artsakh’s story. This includes cooperation with educational institutions, charitable foundations, the media, and the general public, to promote cultural activities, organize events, produce publications, and increase awareness of the history, music, literature, art, and culture of Artsakh / Nagorno Karabakh, which span over 25 centuries of recorded history.
We are active in the U.S., the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh), Armenia, Europe, and around the world. We endeavor to raise awareness about Artsakh and garner greater attention to the struggle of its people to live independently and prosperously in peace and security.
AfA works with both the Nagorno Karabakh Republic government as well as the international community to support, monitor and strengthen the democratic process and rule of law in Artsakh. It also encourages citizen participation at all levels of government, transparent governance by its leaders, further development of the NGO sector, as well as strengthening of the independent media.
